    Angry Telnet problem

    hi,
i have tried to connect and telnet my E6
my ip using USBNET is 192.168.16.1
and i am telnetting using 192.168.16.2
    it is showing me
    -----
    MontaVista(R) Linux(R) Consumer Electronics Edition 3.1
    Linux/armv5tel 2.4.20_mvlcee31-mainstone_pxa27x
    -----

"Thats all .. .no login prompt OR user or anything else"
i cannt see anything else on my black MSDOS screen
i have even tryied few commands like "ls" , "pwd"
    but of no use

One more thing i have observed that people are using this word call USBNET activate from USB Mode ... but i cant see that under USB Mode there are only 3 thing 1) modem 2)Mass Storage 3) webcamera

But I have installed USBNet by replacing .system file
    as directed in

    Install the USBNet package.
Replace the tlng file that is in the sbin folder with this one:

Yes I can help you out with that.......

I will give you a step by step detailed procedure:

Step 1: In your browser, there a bit of space, where you enter the url, type in www.motorolafans.com/forums

Step2: You arrive at the Motorolafans forum page, if you're nto sure where you are the page must be in black and orange

Step3: On the left hand side of the page(your left hand side, not the computers) theres a Search button. Note down position of this button.

Step4: Above the Search button theres a bit of Space for Text entry, in that space type in SAMBA, make sure you get the spelling right.

Step 5: Press GO, which is a button to the right of the text entry field.

Step6: In the third topic from the top, topic name : APP: samba and inetd - telnetting into A1200 is where you will find your application.

Next time I will not give you these intructions, please write them down if you find it hard to remember them.

AAAH damn, I plain missed it, you dont want to search for "CHEAP" solutions dont you, by the way its spelt CHEAP and not CHEEP, unless you were a bird, then you'd be going "Cheep, cheep, twitter twitter". ANd if you call the work done here cheap, I suggest you either leave the forum in a dignified manner, or edit your signature, or we'll kick you out.

akshay, that depends on ppl's perception to each his own wat can i say ur thoughts spk a lot about urself .. i have never said CHEAP... i have my own reasons to use this word called cheep
why should u wanna know... thats my signature, and i guess signatures are personal things .. no one else should comment on that.. this is public forums and ppl have right to speak what they feel ... i spend money on my phone so i'll write whatever i want.... so chill....

anyways thanks for ur post on the search SAMBA...

last but not least ... i'll defiantly change my signature once i'll get satisfied with this phone

    Cheers,
