SKin installation problem

whenever i am trying to install skins using skininstaller it is just giving installing skin... and asking to reboot the phone.
After rebooting the gold color skin is getting insattled vth bad interface means unable to see all the icons options slidebar etc..,
So,please help to solve these problem.

Wait till it says installation complete, will take about 2-5mins depending on the skin size. The golden skin thing is because of an incomplete installation.

yeah i am waiting and it is giving a mesage to restart the phone.afterwards i am restarting my phone.then also same problem.

I too have the same problem... I'm using the .08p F/W. is this the problem? or does it have to do with something else.I havent flashed my phone yet... I love to have some new themes installed.

need i to flash my phone to Dag's.presently i am using generic f/w .08

If you're using a .08p firmware, I'm not seeing any reason why you'd need to reflash the phone...

What I can suggest is to restart the phone, then install the skin... Then wait as aksd suggested... By the way, what type of file are you using to install the theme/skin? lin of phm? If you're using lin, use linloader... You use eakrin's skin installer for phm files...

Actually its neither of the file types you've mentioned. The file extension is .pskn, I am using Eakrin's Skin and Splash installer and followed its guide to install these file types. I see no reason why these shouldn't get installed.
Am I missing anything? do tell,

I am using *.pskn files to install skins.Before i worked fine recently from 5 days it is not working.And i also thinking flash my phone to another one.Please suggest me the best to flash it.

Not sure, acutally, I've not installed any themes yet... Try asking others who've successfully installed themes of thier phone...

Being into S/W Testing for a year helped me!!!

Step1: Locate the folder where all the themes are stored on the SD card.
Step2: Rename this folder so that it doesn't have any spaces.
Step3: Try installing the skins and splashes again.
Step4: The skins should install properly now.

Note: Actually the path to the skins folder shouldn't have any spaces.
For example : mmc\mmca1\My Themes\foldername :incorrect
mmc\mmca1\MyThemes\foldername :CORRECT
