Info : Modded volume gain table for Rokr E6

Well ever since i bought Rokr E6 I just found two things that disappointed me a lot. First the low volume and the second that it doesnt support Adobe Flash Lite.
I kept googling to make my volume little bit louder permanently. Finally, i came to know that editing gain_table.bin can do this.
I followed few tutorials posted by various authors,so all credit goes to them. I have modded gain_table.bin file to increase volume for phone calls and for multimedia purposes.

I just wanted to share wat i came up with for those long hours i messed up with my phone.

This method worked very fine in my motorokr e6, firmware ahman's .10p speedup version. I cannot guarantee if it works in yours. But its not a bad deal to give a try right? And yeah gain_table.bin that i have attached is modded to the settings that match my needs.

For this you need
1. MOST - wonderful seem editing and filemanaging utility
2. GP Tables editor- gain, param table editing software.
3. modded gain_table.bin(you can use your own from the phone as per your requirement)

All the files are attached at the end of this post.

NOTE : BEFORE MODIFYING FILES ITS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL FILE IN YOUR PC SO THAT YOU CAN REVERT BACK TO YOUR ORIGINAL FILE LATER IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.

Steps :
1. Plug your phone to ur PC in modem mode.
2. Open "most" utility that you have downloaded.
3. From left treeview panel select "File manager" (one with red icon). From below click "Refresh" Button. If refresh button is not enabled you need to reboot your phone.
4. now one more menu comes under "File manager". That is "/a/" . Select this menu.
5. In right panel you can see gain_table.bin and other files as well. If you want to modify your existing gain_table, just select the file and press download to save it in your PC.
6. If you want to use my modded gain_table.bin. Then just press upload and browse to the file you have downloaded, rest MOST will do.
7. Now reboot your phone.

steps to edit gain_table.bin
1. open gain table editor that i have attached below.
2. dont connect it to the phone.
3. press gain_table button from the top.
4. press load and choose "from file"
5. browse through the gain_table.bin that you've downloaded from the phone or you can modify the file i have attached in this post.
6. Once youre done upload to your phone using the above steps.

Presto! you're done

1. Vodafone and Knightrider MP3 ringtone.
2. iPhone simulated boot and splash screen that i have created.

Well, havent tried to modify entries of param table as i was satisfied with the results. May be i will try and will post here soon.

In stock mobile, when we increase the sound in player like rockbox or exmms to max, the sound becomes scratchy.. have you noticed anything like this after increaseing the sound.

Well i have decreased exmms bass input and volume to 85...the sound is perfect for me, and i chose 3D audio option from the exmms configuration as well. I dont know much about RockBox i have rarely used that
