Extracting the firmware CG's, but not able to extract the CG's, it says "state failed".

Using this software recompiling iconres.ezx is very easy.

Hi. Who says 'state failed'? What CG did you try to extract?

    btw, description:
EZXCodec is the program for Windows to edit EZX phones firmwares.
    It can:
extract CGs from SBF, compile SBF from CGs
extract files from CramFS, compile CramFS (additional files needed for this operations)
extract picture files from iconres.ezx, compile iconres.ezx from picture files.

Can you explain little bit more about CramFS & the additional files needed for this operations?

sorry for the delay, i'm busy writing new version (adding support for 'iconres.ezx' from e2, z6 and probably v8, a1200/e6 is ready in current version, but sometimes misses one file on extraction - will be fixed too). when it's ready, i'll release it here too (along with forum.motofan.ru).
CramFS is the file system used in some codegroups of ezx firmware. 7-zip archive with additional files for working with this FS are attached in the post of forum.motofan.ru, look in the first post for the link. unpack it to 'tools' subfolder of main program folder (where ezxcodec.exe located). i'll attach english readme file with new version for your convinience.
    thanks for your patience.

Additionally, you can also try to check out the thread I made on using CYGWIN to parse/recompile CGs...

CYGWIN also supports cramfsck and mkcarmfs... I find it much easier doing it there...
    Hope this helps!

    well, great. but:
    1) EZXCodec can extract CGs from SBF (no need to use SBFCodec),
    2) parse (extract) and
    3) compile (make new) CramFS in CGs (CG43 is not a problem too),
    4) you can then replace SMG files you need in smg folder and
    5) compile new SBF from these SMGs.
btw, I use cygwin dll to execute cramfsck and mkcramfs from EZXCodec, so there's nothing new.
but I'm working on internal CramFS compilation process, so it won't need any additional files anymore (managed to get internal extraction from CramFS to work, but I make (intentionally) symlinks of different format than cramfsck makes, so without internal compilation it's useless yet).

current progress: final tests of iconres.ezx support for phones other than A1200/E6 are almost finished, new release is very close. stay tuned

I know a little bit of programming.... C++ / Javascript / VB / .net etc

And i wanna evelop for Ezx platfrom, can someone tell me where to start from, cause most of this stuff is Greek to me.

Also i'd prefer native linux rather than cygwin please

I tried to edit the .09P firmware with this...

I extracted the firmware files and then extracted the CG34 and deleted some of the default ringtones.
Then I compiled the CG34 again and replaced the original CG34 with it.
After that, I compiled the smg files into a sbf firmware file and tried to flash my e6 with this new firmware, but I got 'Flash failed'.

    Did I do anything wrong?

Anyway, wonderful application for non-technical people like me!
