INFO: Using the phone MPKG installer

Hey guys....did a little search-&-research regarding making flexbit changes and found one that enables the phone in-built MPKG installed...

And it works...well, not yet 100% cuz it does not seem to support the tar.gz MPKG packages we make...either it requires a different archive format or different file hierarchy/contents in the package...Well, that's what we gotta find out...

The file that's gotta be changed is called ezx_security.cfg in the CG37 of the FW...

[SYS_FLEX_TABLE]
0 = 0
1 = 0
2 = 0
3 = 8388608 --> this enables USBNet support
4 = 0
5 = 536870912 --> this enable MPKG support
6 = 0
7 = 512
8 = 0

P.S.: It think some F/Ws already have this enabled..

I use 09P original from Moto thailand. It start with line 7 flexbit like your ezX_security.cfg. and It always install a .mpkg file and fail with invalid package.

PS. 09P does not have USBNet. line 3 is empty.

i still dont know how to have a mpkg installer ...
when i bought my moto ming it didnt have a cd or sth!!!!!

The built in installer will work if the package has been signed. We do nt know how to sign the package therefore the installer is useless. On few versions of the A780 the package does need to be signed, and mpkg files can be installed.

@all_those_ppl_who_need_mpkg_loader: You cannot install mpkg installer.. duh! You'll need to replace your .system hidden folder in you memory card with one that already has mpkg. check the link provided by dellsonic a few posts above this one.
