BOUGHT A NEW ROKR E6. NOW WHAT TO DO ???

Hey all , i finally bought my ROKR E6 . I tried looking through the forums but all of the things were scattered .

Now my question is what all should i do with my phone . Starting with the battery charging thing , my battery initially had some charge in it when i bought the phone , i drained out the battery completely . Now is there any thing to remembe before charging the phone .

the first thing i did was modded my phone to Edge & Quadband

rmbr to completely drain out ur battery and charge for AT LEAST 10hrs..usually 12 is best but 10 is enough for the first time


i didnt do any modding yet as i am afraid to brick my phone and so far im pretty satisfied with the default stuff. i have the 06p firmware...nothing so far has gone wrong


all i did was change me wallpaper to some pic that i uploaded from my computer and change the custom settings like mp3 ringtones, battery saving stuff like background lighting to 50% and loading stuff that i need such as documents and songs.

as i live in canada and dont use the mobile internet...i dont need the quadband and edge modification

u dont really need to flash ur phone to another f/w. do it only if you need to such as when you've got software issues (not working properly) or it just doesnt live up to your expectations (such as a lack of software or that you want silent camera shutter sound, etc.). if you screw up ur flashing process then you are causing alot of trouble for yourself.

the only way you can screw up while flashing is running out of battery... i've screwed up 3x while flashing cuz my comp froze when someone instant message me on AIM.

all i had to do was put into boot mode again then flash it.

other than that, if u run out of battery while flashing... u better get yourself another fully charged battery because once your phone is dead, u can't recharge it.

Hey , thanks guys . I am a MING pro and bought a new ROKR . Sorry for posting so late .


my MING was bought by me in a half broken state and in a bricked state at a price of 60 $ .

My post was not that clear SO let me ask again ..........i was talking of the initial caring stuff that one should do to ensure the life of the battery and the phone ANY SUGGESTIONS ????????????

BTW i had loaded MPKG , Ilock ,and LINloader while i was coming home after buying my ROKR .

Flashing !!!!! Naah i wud rather have the warranty neways running 08p so no need .
