Send longer SMS?

Hi,
I've noticed that if I type in a really long sms, it automatically gets converted to an MMS.. How can I make it avoid this?

There should be some configuration in the ezx_local or something right? Just wondering if someone figured it out...

Hello!

Just asking, how many lines have you consumed already? Have you tried changing the sms/mms option to just sms? You can find that option above the "to..." button when you write SMS... I can write up to 3 sms lines and still send s as SMS... I'm not sure if it can support longer than that, though...

Please tell me what happens as I'm also curious to see if I can send longer SMS! Thanks again!

Hi.. I'm talking about waaaaay more than just 3 lines.. I'm talking 10 pages or more..
For example we can't send a decent sized .txt file (containing a few paagraphs) as an sms..

Whereas in my old Nokia I could do it..

Sorry for that one, I mean I use that option when sending 3 pages/lines of SMS... I've still not tried sending an SMS that's longer than 3 pages/lines...

for me it works fine.. i tried sending long sms and it just splitted the thest to 3-4 sms and sent it that way... it dint convert to MMS automatically.

I'm using the factory default .08P

Set the message mode to SMS explicitly and then paste in your text. The phone will split the message into a new SMS every 160 characters. If you have a plan with charges for SMS, do mind the bill.

Also, many network providers will revoke your SMS service when you send too many SMS in too short a time (many will also have invisible limits on the number of free SMS per day).
