ur phne. i memebr their was a setting use GPRS or the regular way.
i have a question if i sent a SMs with GRPS does that count as part of Cingulars XX amount of messages or is it data?
Hi,
I'm wondering what's the best free sms program for the E6. Just to clarify I want a program that uses the data connection to send free sms. Ideally with little or no advertising. Touch screen support would also be great. And it would be perfect if the the sms displays my number to the receiver.
I've used a few programs from getjar.com but I haven't found a solid program yet.
Thanks

I know you can choose to send your sms over grps using the settings on the phone. However that still costs the regular text message rate.
There are programs, like this one,--- http://www.getjar.com/products/10337/cellityfreeSMS--- that send the message to a 3rd party server (over the data connection), which relays the message to the destination. The only charge is data. I'm not completely sure how it works but i assume its something like that.
Has anyone found a program that works well with the E6? Ideally having all the features I mentioned before.
with this program is it cheaper on the bill or just another way to SMS
I have a free plan of GPRS without limit, right now im using SMS over GPRS.Originally Posted by Kingsford

Yes, my carrier charges my if I use the "send over GPRS" option.
If you use a 3rd party app to text it can be free. However some of them advertise. Also some of them don't put your number in the text so the receiver has no idea who its from because it says some random number. I'm looking for a program that fixes these problems.
I've tried a few but I haven't found a good one yet. Another example is mig33. However, i believe mig33 only gives you 5 or 10 free texts.
anybody find anything else yet? I'm trying a bunch of programs from getjar, but not getting anything that works
