Default New comer. about to flash firmware. need help

    Hi,
I am about to change the firmware on my rokr e6e (the warranty on the phone has just expired These are the details of my phone.
    ROKR E6E. current firmware: 11.87_22P

    I have a few questions
    1) Can I use any f/w that is posted on these forums or should I use something that uses only 22P as the base f/w only?
    2) In the worst case that the new f/w has issues or stops working, how can I get the original f/w that is present on my phone. there was another post giving the generic f/w link in rapidshare. But that link doesn't work. tried google, but no luck.

    thanks

    Hi Mota.....
sure you can buddy like mine too. And you may use any FW as you want... and so any Monsterpack as you wish with no any obstacles at all........ all you gonna do is just charge your battery and then flashing it up.
Just read it from the beginning then you'll found some of links might work to give you back the original ones. But as long as know, people won't do it again to going back to original / generic FWs. They never have to,,, rather they prefering to have some Monster on it to meet extraordinary-features & performance what they want.

I don't know exactly what Version of Generic FW you were use it before...
But if you still need the Generic ones, here's the link from KundancooL - http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/e...tml#post238377

    Hi Kundan and harsh,
I used both of your f/w, but there is one common problem. After flashing, the MPT application cannot recognize the phone no matter what i do. I cannot sync my backed-up contacts to the phone now.
Can you tell me what could be the issue and how to restore contacts from MPT?

well I too use MPT for my phone when I switch to Windows 7 I suppose you must update your driver and MPT as older versions are not compatible for ROKR ..

my firmware does not seems to give such problems... but I have not tested syncing of backups with MPT I don't use backups...

Whenever you take back on MPT. Go to File > Export contacts. They will be exported to Comma separated values, Excel document or phone book file. You can retrive anytime even without launching MPT.
