this might sound stupid but..

How do i remove '.zip' from the MUsicId file?

that file on my desktop is shown as a zip file named: MusicID_E6_F_ENESPT_VER_1_8_2.jar

so..how do remove the '.zip' extension (as exactly shown above)? i dont see it thus cannot delete it??

Hey , if you downloaded the file from here , it is named with .zip at the end , if you dont see it it is becuz the way your windows (XP I presume) is set up ....

you need to open a folder (anyone it doesnt matter) go into :
tool/folder options/view ..
uncheck the box that says ' hide extension for known file type '
hit ok , and now you should be able to rename the file ...

it says that i dont have the required resources or sth like that..

does this program require internet connection? cux i dont use internet on phones.

any other methods to music id my collection of .m4a?? cux without the id, the music cannot be sorted by artist/album, which is quite annoying and disorganized.

ya it requires internet man , without it how do you think it will id your songs , sadly the only way would be internet , so this app is useless for you and me , but there was a general interst init witch is why I added it to this thread .

you can use the dictionary in english and chinese when you search a word in english it comes up in chinese then you can highlight the word to get the pinyin. If you search in you get english.

No sound on the talking dctionary thoug, no audio

what is the pinyin?

Okay now i definately found a big issue.... i dunno why but i am actually not receiving 20% of my incomming calls. so i did a test on myself cause i thought the reason for not getting the calls is because i have bad reception or something.

Here is the problem i called from 4 diff cell phones and land lines and i also made sure i have FULL reception on the phone. The calls all went through to my voice mail after 4 rings. Which made no sense so i called ROGERS tech support and they did some tests and discovered that not in all cases but most cases the modded f/w + haveing call display feature actually makes the phone reject calls. And the worst part is it's true.

@DAGr8 I hope you can shed some light for me as i really like your modded f/w but i also like caller ID.

I think they are pulling your leg. I have caller ID displayed and am getting all my calls far as I know. Try turning off all diverts in the phone options so it doesn't go to your voicemail anymore.
Sounds more like an issue with ROGERS than with the firmware.

this is an issue with Rogers , its been addressed in these forums many times .. have Rogers remove name display and you shold be alright .

Pinyin is chinese with it's tones written in roman script the closest it can be to english.

I flashed it again with the Chinese version only and it seems to work this time great seems like all the bugs fixed much appreciated DAGr8 and other whom worked upon this firmware.

DAG, I noticed with your F/W that the camera would try and save pictures to a folder on my SD Card with all Chinese characters, even with language set to English. I ended up going in and changing the camera's settings but by default it appears to be Chinese.

Also, there seems to be a little lag when clicking on "Setup"- it takes a bit longer to think than in previous F/W's.

The program to re-map the two hard keys won't work for me with this F/W either, but it works with .06P.

Just a couple of very minor bugs, but otherwise great work M8!

i found a bug with the alarm when the power off. if you set the alarm on and turn off your phone. when the alarm time reached, the phone turned on and then off and then on again with no alarm tone. can u please have a look at this?
