Default APP: Cellsafe – Password Safe Application

Hi All,

CellSafe is a J2ME application and associated tools for securely managing sensitive information such as passwords on a cell phone.

I have been corresponding with the author of this application and the next release is ready.

Not only does this application work on the ROKR E6 but you can import and export data between your phone and PC.

I have been looking for a good password application for months and have finally settled on this one.

The current release adds stronger encryption, a search facility, improved command line PC tool and more.

I have also created an updated version of the JAR file that includes the bigger icon for the ROKR E6.

If you download the application from here I suggest that you install the file cellsafe-midlet-edited.jar

All source code is included and you can check out the projects homepage at:

http://cellsafe.sourceforge.net/

The author is currently not implementing new features but is working towards a final and stable 1.0 release. However feel free to make suggestions to the author, Mark Patton (mpatton (!at!) jhu.edu), for new features in future versions.

Regards,

JamesK

Copy the .JAR file onto your SD card. Open file manager on the E6. Navigate to the JAR file and click on it. Select install to phone. You will be prompted to install an "untrusted" application. Click yes, and that's about it.

You should have a new icon on your phone with a bunch of keys. Run this. The app should be pretty self explainatory, but you can always read the documentation included in the archive.

Great, thanks for the info!
Forgot to ask though, if it is also easy to uninstall if I have any problems or does it require something more complicated like registry editing?

To uninstall, click and hold your stylus on the cellsafe application. After about 5 seconds a menu will pop-up and uninstall will be one of the options.

If you select "uninstall" the application and all associated data will be removed. No registry editing required. Everything is handled by the phone and the inbut Linux based OS.

Enjoy.

Done. I assumed you need to verify it before it becomes publicly available?
