About saving the messages to the pc from the phone, you will need MPT (the cd that came with the phone). Install the MPT on the PC and follow the onscreen instructions till you see an image of the E6 on the screen. Click on the centre button of the image and click inbox. Within Inbox, there is an option to save the highlighted messages. Select all and save them on the PC.

To have the phone save the sms to the memory card, well, you have to read the guide above! However, the phones that are sold do not have modded firmware, and you have o do either a partial flash to enable startup texts or a complete flash of the firmware. You can read more about flashing and different kinds of firmware available in the Firmware section of the forum

hii thanks a lot.. for telling me about saving messages on phone.. I wanted to know that what if all my messages go away if something happens to my phone.. can I save the messages back to phone form pc?? and can u plz tell me how to save on memory card.. any easy way???

If you know how to install .pkg files (which i assume u know since u have installed skins), install backup and restore in the mods and hacks section of the e6 forum. Its by eakrin, and an excellent tool for backing up the sms, contact lists and emails, along with other such user data. Its fairly simple to use.

Hi All,

i tried this with the startup script

mount --bind /mmc/mmca1/Mount/main.db /ezx_user/sysDatabase/main.db

but still its not allowing more then 3 MB of storage. how to make it unlimited storage as mention in this forums.

am i missing some step which is needed.

The size will increase depending on the data added. You will notice this when u receive a message or add a new contact.
This is useful as you now are limited only by the free space in ur mem card.

i am using exactly the same process as you mention here but its not allowing me more messages then 3 MB size. the moment it cross the 3 MB size it not allowing any more messages.

i seems its not using the flash memory as storage but its using only for mirroring.

I've the messages in MPT and I've also exported them as .xml (before I flashed my phone).

Now I want to restore my messages to the phone.
I can restore the Contacts and Calenda, but not the messages.

Is there any option to do this?????

Unfortunately, MPT does not allow you to restore the backup of messages. you would have to utilize any one of the utilities such as Eakrins Backup and Restore, but these too also just restore only if uv backed up using them only.
