I don't think its supported, There is a applet called specs that probes for the availble API's and on both the e680 and e680i it comes up "no" for "JSR-82: bluetooth" and "JSR-82: obex".
It looks like the only com connection to the kvm on the e680/i is through the USB interface. I am actually trying right now to see if a different VM (e.g. kaffe) could be ported such that we can at least access other comm interfaces (e.g. /dev/pts/? once a BP SPP connection is made, it could lead then to a BT chat app)
SInce you can run PPP over BT, you can run any application that is supported over TCP/IP.Originally Posted by rpconnect

Yes, both opera and java telnet/ssh clients should work over the bt ppp as well (thanks again leopardus!!), now i am trying to set up masqerading properly in order to route the ppp connection through a SuSE 9.2 setup (this stuff is completely new to me and I have no idea what I am doing...).Originally Posted by leopardus2
JSR82 is surly NOT implemented, but perhaps somebody get this project at SourceForge to work. than we have with a few changes in java classes (the imports) a running jsr82.
i could scan this article by c't if somebody is interested, buts in german.
had tried demo application but dont works at my side, but perhaps on e680i cause the spp profile.
I am trying to get this http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling/Shareware/Clicker/
ported to my E680(i). The developer doesn't seem to be too interested... and has to have the JSR82 support or nothing...
Yeah, anyone get salling clicker working on the phone gets free love for life....![]()
is somebody actually working on JSR-82 support? any improvements on getting avetanabt to run? do we need a different vm for something like that (kaffe, etc)? there are many howtos out there on building your own cross-compiling toolchain, so maybe compiling is not that difficult.
My aim is to remuco on to run my a780. is someone working on that or has more information?
