    @elfloj0
please go to the Moto-fication and read all about there.

Wow, this seems like great stuff. Very promising. I'm sure something like this (and maybe this already) will replace my Motorola firmware in the future.

Thanks for this, I will certainly try it when I have some more free time.

    Some small questions:

    - Is it still possible to answer the phone and dial with the keypad closed on the A780
    - Is it possible to boot directly to Mkezx (as default boot)
    - Can you access all not pre-installed applications like emulators, java? apps/games etc.
My quest threw the wilderness of possibilities on the A780

It´s possible to manipulate the X11 so that we have a normal flash which can be flashed into A780 .
Only things which only be need read access in the root-fs and use the diska for read and write access??

I did everything right (afaik) but when i click on mkezx, the phone hangs and i have to take out the battery to reboot.
i have ekonsole running, i want to know where exactly is the binary, so that i can run it and see the error messages.
I installed mkezx.mpkg to the transflash.

there are a few issues regarding this X11... i wasn't able to receive any incoming phonecalls, lack of settings for alarmclock, ringtones, how to write an sms using keypad, how to use camera, is there any mp3/ogg player? how to improve the speed what's prob. most important thing to be solved.

Is this the version of mkezx that might be updated with most of the things i mentioned? If so doing this as a normal flash system would be great interchange...
if not, sorry for being rude but it seems to be useless without any future... and moreover waste of programmer's time... but i wish i am wrong.
    greetings

The file that is executed is
    /mmc/mmca1/.system/QTDownLoad/mkezx/mkezx-boot.sh

Currently you can receive phonecalls only when the phone application is running. (Accessories->Phone Application)

Remember, this is the first release of mkezx to "the public", it is still in alpha stage. Most of the work is under the hood, e.g. bash, ssh, apt, and many others. Most important, it finally gives A1200 developers a way to write apps, till now no ezx apps were available. And, it opens the window to a huge number of applications already available!

I have a simple question, first though my stats

    a1200 running 53p generic.

I have mkezx running great from the image release and the pkg file.

using ext3 it's was super slow, I have since modified the start up script to load the ext2 modules as well and re installed the image onto an ext2 partition. It was a very very small increase but I figure I don't really need cataloging anyhow. But it's still very unusable. So I created a third partition and made it an 86MB swap. I used util-linux 2.12r that built on OS X (Intel) and ran mkswap on it. Then booted mkezx on the phone and started a term and ran swapon -a, didn't mount any swaps, I also tried running mkswap there but of course I have no idea what dev it would be and didn't want to start messing around. Any idea if and how I could mount a swap to try and speed things up on the a1200?

Also is there a way to shutdown the X11 part without needed to turn off the entire phone to return to the motoDesktop?

any plans to Xsdl on mkezx ?
why not put mkezx inside a ext2 or ext3 image instead a partition ?

I'm testing mkezx inside a 180mb ext3 image with Xsdl.
I can receive a call when using mkezx. I can shutdown mkezx and return to standard phone environment without loose anything and without restart the phone.

During my tests, swap memory usage reaches 20mb.
