i agree!
I think this is the appropiate place to ask this:
Is it possible to develop an easy way to create icon-shortcuts for our phones?
I have always wondered if it would be possible to create icon shortcuts the way we do on our PCs, so, we could assign an icon to an script for instance, and make this icon to appear on an app group.
I can imagine the way to do this being a kind of script or app that asks for the name of the file to be run, the icon to be shown, and the group where to place that icon...
this would be amazing!!!!![]()

i agree!
very gud idea. As a developer, the only problem I can think of is, in finding out the right application to open this file with. For example, mp3 should be opened with player, scripts with linloader, txt with notes etc., May be we can ask the user for the application path, while creating the shortcut.
If that is acceptable, then I guess it is very much possible. I can think of a application group dedicated for something like windows desktop, where i create shortcuts to all my frequently accessed documentsgreat idea.
I am held up with my examsI wish i finish them fast, and do something productive

I think it is easyer to pack lin script into mpkg than create app to do that.

It would be probably easier...but the idea is to provide an standard, easy way for non skilled user to create their shortcuts.
I , for instance, cant imagine how would I create a new package with the script, the icons, and the application file edit stuff to make the thing appear as a new app, and even if someone would explain me (I'm sure its not complicated) the idea is still to develop an automated, direct, and flexible method, like on PC, so we could create our shortcuts.
@ageraldnaveen
You're right. It would be a process in which the user would enters all the information, including the installed app used to open/run the target file, the target file itself, and the app group where to place the resulting shortcut... would be cool.
As you can imagine, the potential growth of such an app is impressive, with a lot of possible features (installed apps detection, target file browsing, assignment remember, iconset/folder selection, icon preview, ..........)
I'm thinking that if this project goes on, it would be necessary to start thinking on an iconset folder with some icons to start playing!!!![]()
Maybe we will have finally even icon styles for our apps as people shares their personal iconsets!!!!

@flammenwerfer
to create your own package start with an existing .mpkg and change the script and icon. *.mpkg is most a *.tar.gz. rename it and you can edit.
but you are wright. a simple app for non advantage user would be easier.
On the behalf of "normal" users let me tell you that this will be a very interesting application.
Access to pictures folder in mmc, f. e. , is now 3 steps or more witch is a little bit annoying.
So, a system to create shortcuts will be welcome.
ok, i guess there is one more pblm to be considered. If the application writes to the application database directly, emulating what a MPKG installer does, we may have to restart the phone for it to reflect the newly installed shortcut! can anyone confirm this? I remember having this prblem long back when i installed linloader manually.
So do we have to restart the phone for every icon we create??!! (ofcourse only once per icon's lifetime). Do u people think it as a frowning thing?

I think that restart the phone after mpkg application installation is not a problem as far as the benefit will be higher, in fact restart is just change the order of icons, so nothing . . .
c'mon, try to go ahead with this nice improvement !!!!!
