    @shaheer_k: both dude.. Sadly I don't have A780 so I can not test on it!
    @ageraldnaveen: why I can not find the exit button of your sound control apps? Before, after running I remember it has an exit button at the bottom right conner! Now it only shows two lines. 1 for control speaker vol, 1 for mic vol. No exit button! why?

    May be bcoz E680's QT libs are little different from A780? Someone already commented about this in that thread. One thing is sure that I didnt remove it purposely , it is still there only.

    here is the result of what i've analysed so far on this:

    there is some sort of power-saving feature which is the whole reason why the sleep beyond a certain extent are not accurate. May be the processors are underclocked to save battery? (like intel's speedstep). or some specifics in the scheduler? No quite clear. But when keep ur phone in charging mode (usb/power), things will work fine.

    having said that, trying some workaround like having repeated sleep's for 5 secs or so, might help us to achieve what we want, but at the cost of power. I dont personally feel that there is justifiable reason to waste power/CPU for mca app. So I am now confused as to how to proceed. I am going to put this app in the back-seat for now in my app list, as i've spent so much time with it Just thought I could share this info, so people would know abt it, and might also suggest something which i might not 've thought of.

    Also, The default calendar/alarm apps are examples which do not have issues!!! so there might be a way around?

    i think a selectable sleeptime will be fine. if i missed a call for me it is not neccesary to look for it every 5 sec, for me is a time 30min ok. because a missed call is a very rare event.
    is it possible for your programm to look every 30min(selectable time) for a missed call, and if there is one, give an alarm, if not sleep back.

    the calendar/alarm is time triggered so it must not listen all the time for an event.

    a very happy user of your vibe_program!

    @swifty: I guess you missed few earlier posts. No one is really intersted for an alert every 5 seconds. But any sleep for more than 2mins (approx), never wakes up, or is not deterministic. And that is the problem here. So someone suggested (even I tried already) for repeated sleeps of 5 seconds each. Thats why 5 seconds came into the talk.

    calendar/alarm is time triggered : what do you exactly mean by time triggered? do you know of any linux framework which would automatically notify correctly based on time??? If so, i can easily calculate the time (30 mins from current time), and sleep till then. I do not think that is also possible!

    @gerald
    sorry for my missunderstanding,
    i meant not an alert every 5 sec. my idea was a program that looks every 30min if there was a missed call. like a cronjob.

    i dont know how Calender/alarm is working.
    sorry my skills are not helping you in this point.
