Default Stupid question: EZX == Easy-X?

I'm just wondering out loud here, but does anyone know if EZX is a stripped-down X Server? Haven't put much thought into it, but the name certainly suggests it...

i dont know what u mean by that but basically EZX development is not supported by Motorola. They are simply the most retarded company on this universe. They locked down the power of beautiful Linux OS by limiting access to only j2me development. the reasoning they give is that it makes the device vulnerable to security threats and network abuse... Total Balony !!!

this is the reason why Windows Mobile will win this race in smartphone and Symbian and WM will remain dominant.

back to ur question. well, many ppl have worked in reverse engineering the native API's and Sam who goes by Samr7 (a very unique / smart individual) has also come up with the SDK .. its not complete but good enough for development... His SDk is EZX based and can be used in development of native appl.. however u cant sell it or Motorola will create complications... so No, in principle it is not useless if u get hold of it and want to develop native side apps.. however, if Motorola wants they can release an official SDK for it and have the community develop apps for this beautiful phone. but as i said Motorola is Stupid. They cant understand a simple fact that it hurts them also in the long run...

but Yes Motorola Does have EZX SDK that it used and provided to third party developers before releasing the phone. They wont give that SDK to general public now.. maybe they dont wanna support the technical aspects of it.. its too much work for them

So EZX is useless for us customers and third-party developers, at least as long as it is handled like this.
Gradually I begin to realize why many developers stick to Windows Mobile:
The Windows Mobile 5.0 SDK contains for example:
    -GPS-Localization API
    -Bluetooth API
    -Camera API
    -State Notification Broker API

Although I don“t like the Windows Mobile e.g. because of the often unnecessary complicated UI (just try to find the task manager that is often needed because many applications run in the background and the device gets slower and slower...) and the closed source principle I understand that developers like it because of the SDK. They just have to pay a bit for it (or rather their companies) and then they can develop the applications they want. In contrast we have to do re-engineering for years until we can create native applications for our A780...
