good to know tha port. i just hope that u get eplayer source from somewhere. i'll wait for the news of a better version of a good player![]()
Dear all,
just to let you know that I finally succeeded to recompile mplayer integrating the latest arm patches from the mplayer-zaurus version. The resulting patch to be applied to latest cvs version of mplayer is available here: http://www.courville.org/mediawiki/index.php/A780
In order to get a mplayer fast enough for the a780, I had to use the Intel IPP optimized libraries for the arm with iwmmx extentions.
The only part that I am missing still is the source code for eplayer (mplayer wrapper). For the moment I need to launch my version with the older eplayer or by making a killall windowsserver prior from a telnet session.
If anyone has the source of eplayer wrapper or the overclocking patch please let me know.
Enjoy!

With SDL video support, you can start mplayer without killed windowsserver. With qprocess (you can drop it from opie source) you can start, get ouput message, error message, and control mplayer. I think, create your own GUI with qprocess backend is a good option. You can use KMPlayer/KPlayer (KDE mediaplayer) source as a starting point. Good luck.
eXMMS and Rockbox running on E680, E680i, E680g, A780, A1200 and ROKR E6
blackhawk: thanks for the suggestion. I will:
1) re-enable sdl support
2) contact cmplayer wrapper author to merge the efforts
3) look at the qprocess
and then report hopefuly a new version!
