Thread: signing midlets

  1. #1

    Default signing midlets

I am trying to run signed midlet on E680i. It downloads JAD file (not JAR) and gives me "Package Invalid" error. Same MIDLet installs on Nokia phones, so I assume I have signed it right. According to developer guide, this is not due to invalid certificate, because invalid certificate message would be different. It never attempts to download JAR file (I can see in the web server logs). However if I remove MIDlet-Certificate-1-1 and MIDlet-Jar-RSA-SHA1 lines from JAD, it installs OK.

I have a feeling that I need to add something else to JAD when signing it. Does anybody have an example of working signed MIDElet?

Another question is whenever I can add some certificate to list of trusted certificates. I can do this for SSL certs (via Opera menu) but I suspect these won't affect midlets.

I asked exactly the same question to motocoder tech support and the response was "we have no idea, probably not"
