    Anyone compile qpeGPS for openezx yet? Any patches? I'm just going to download the latest from cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/qpegps and start working with the latest toolchain...

    Oh my, this is WAY too much fun. I'm slow here guys, but I got gpsdump compiled and working... well once. I was using a modified version of Leprecaun's toochain and I'm tyring ezx-crosstool-0.5 now. I'm, uhh... sorta... running on cygwin.

    So anyway, thank you SOO much for doing this Floe! Will you marry me!? So we just need to get qpegps compiled on the a780 and we'll have an opensource GPS/map/navigation app huh?

    Awsome work all!

    swapon /ram/awesomeswap</pre>

    Daniel,

    There is a java gps app already available that called BikeAtor
    http://www.penguinpower.de/ator/index.en.htm

    Another development thread suggests that there is a precompiled version of qpegps that is compatible with the a780's version of OPIE (Open Palmtop Integrated Environment). Here's the thread, but I haven't found or tried any particular version from openzaurus yet, hopefully luker can give us a little more info. I would like to figure out which version/arch of openzaurus is comatible with the a780. Maybe it's just a matter of checking out the whole project and building with the openezx compiler...

    Which Software? GPS? GPS is in the European A780 (Either Radio or GPS)

    BikeAtor is installed as a normal Java-Application. Look in the README.txt in the tar or Zip-Archiv. Only permfile.txt has to be copied after installaing it.

    Damn!

    You are working on something what would be my personal killer application.
    The thing is that from now on I´m wanting a new A780 because my asian one doesn´t support GPS. I think the reason is the different DSP. Please tell me if anyone knows better!

    Maybe in two or three months I have enough money for buying a new A780...

    @thejoker

    You have to select "Position" in the menu not a "Map"
