$1000 USD is plain crazy. ebay prices are around 600 and i've seen other web dealers between $600 and $700. i'm hoping they will drip to close to ~$500 by summer.

one good thing is that the avaiability of the a1200 is dropping the prices of the e680 and a780; you can now get an e680i from a fairly reputable ebay seller for $250.

hey, can a1200 edit office documents like excel and word? how's the integrated cam? does it really have flash and does it take good pictures? how's the battery life?

managed to extract some stuff from the A1200 firmware,
the rootfs is extracted and as well as the CG36(setup) and language (CG35) which is called data_resource in A1200?
shouldn't be hard to do debranding but i have no phone to try..

about converting SBF into SHX: as far as I understand it it's impossible (or almost impossibe). The only proper variant is update phone with firmware in SBF and then backup flash (image). I suppose that converter into "as is" variant is unexistant...
