    Default GPS on A780

Have been trying to get a straight answer from somewhere about GPS on my A780. Bought my A780 about 12 months ago in the UK thru Expansys. Think its a Taiwanese version. Has software R52_G_0D_43.A3P - BP: R52_G_0D.32.B1P - BPFlex: GS0A780T673AS019 - DSP: 62252500. Wanted to know if the phone will have the GPS hardware & how to check this. If it does & its reflashed with the latest firmware will it run the latest CoPilot software that can be dowloaded from this site. Would appreciate some feedback.

Does it have a radio? If it does, it doesn't have a gps.

Do you mean radio stations access as opposed to bluetooth. If so I don't think so but then I didn't think any 780's had radio. It's not part of any of the specs I've read.

I doubt your A780 would have GPS. 12 months ago it still was unavailable. It first starting selling in Germany the 3d quarter of 2005, And that was in the same time as in UK. sorry.

Open it and check for the chip in the phone's faceplate. If you search this forum you will find threads dealing with this issue and some pictures of how the EU and Asia version chips looks like inside the faceplate.

Or just flash over the european firmware with GPS software from the download page of this forum.

Thanks again magnum so you don't think the phone would need any additional hardware ? What firmware would be best to flash & would I have to flash a series of them in a certain order or can I just reflash using the latest on this forum?

    lat: 0.000000
    lon: 0.000000
    accuracy: 0.000000
    timestamp: 0
    altitude: 0.000000
    speed: 0.000000
    traveldir: 0.000000
    pointing: -256.000000
    horacc: 0.000000
    veracc: 0.000000
    course: 0.000000
    ageoffix: 0
    lat: 0.000000
    lon: 0.000000
    accuracy: 0.000000
