V0.1.3 is out there.
A dream comes true: Maps are selected automatically when out of map.
Note: maps.xml-Format has been changed (you have to specify width and height of the images).

I think I can support tiled images soon They are supported by maps.xml-format but will not be displayed yet.
And after that I will support tracks

Hero2 I would really apreciate if you would at least take a look at ogf2 format used by MapViewGPS2 and SmartComGPS. You can download ogf2tool.exe with MapViewGPS which is free software here.

I think that Olegator could provide specification of this format so you could use it in your app. Current version of ogf2 supports storing images of configurable tile sizes, configurable compression format. This format also supports different scales of the same map in one file, so application using this format doesn't need to scale map itself (most of the time ).

I think that creating another format for maps is not good idea. It would be great if all programs could use the same map format (this is just like a dream ). And there is already great tool (unfortunatelly only for windows) to convert from normal images.

Please at least take a look and give your comment to this.

@Yaworksi: Can you write an ogf-loader for j2me? As I can see, it is f*** closed source! And I could not find any Specifications. So I think I have to create my own format

Hero2 I think that Olegator will provide you with specifications for his format if you contact with him (contact email to author should be on the site). He created this format because he couldn't use closed ozf oziexplorer image format. I think it's worth a try. More apps supporting same format = more possible maps to use without converting files.
