Woodboy, did you compile the vim 6.1 from source? or you adapt it from Zaurus distro?

vi is included as part of busybox, but compared to vim its _very_ limited. for those not used to vi the busybox version is probably sufficient, but if you want features such as split screen, opening multiple files, syntax highlighting, cutting and pasting, etc. i greatly prefer the vim version.

The vi included in the A780-AddOns is not part of busybox. It also supports split screen. However, :syntax on/off doesn't work. Cut/Paste function works great.

:help yields:

"Sorry, help file "/usr/share/vim/doc/help.txt" not found"

I believe this is vim.

yes, if split screen and copy/paste functions are working then its probably vim. not having an a780 I had not looked at the A780-AddOns but thanks for the tip, i will look harder.

I suppose the only difference between that one and the vim discussed here is that the /usr/share/ stuff was changed during compilation so that we could put the help and syntax files elsewhere.

wow, now that i've had a chance to look through the A780-AddOns there's a lot of cool stuff in there.... has anyone had success getting the ssh stuff to work and know if its any better than dropbear?
