network drive mount on A768i/A780

Was wondering if any one has tried to mount a ftp/any network drive on the phone. updaing /etc/fstab -> I want to try but dont know how to go about it.

So one can have unlimited space from a server. not sure if we could play a song mp3 Streaming etc. But should be possible.

My GPRS is very cheap and has unlimited usage for fixed price. So I can have a n/w drive and pay the same.

Please let me know if any one has any ideas for this. Thanks in Advance

i think others have had success with both samba mounting a shared drive on their windows machine as well as nfs. try searching for nfs and samba.

as far as automounting you cannot edit /etc, at least not in a way that will be persistant accross boots, at least without flashing; but you could always write a .lin script to do the mounting for you. I am pretty sure that whoever put out the samba option also included a .lin script (or some other way for the user to easily start it)

I've mounted nfs directories from the phone with mount 192.168.1.1:/nfsdir /somewhere, if that's what you want to do. Had some funny issues with it taking ages to complete without any obvious reason though.

I am looking more like a networking drive from the server running on public IP.
