how to activate IM

i`m using e680i (nonflashed)
When i go to device status, i see the status of IM is offline?
how to make it online, do i have to install any program?
i need IM so much, coz i want to use Yahoo messenger on my phone
i feel desperate

I am from India ,I have similar problem ,
It always show offline . If i try to connec tthen it it gives messsage "Opration Failed"
I had purchased this phone for IM and Email client
Does FLASHINg with new firmware will fix this issue?

i havent seen yet anyone using the provided IM perfectly.
