Default Approach to RADIO & VOICE recording software

Today, i have some spare time, and i start reading about the recording stuff.

I come across Sharp Zaurus which also uses qt-embedded linux (same as A1200) and try to discover the applications they have for recording.

I come across SPXREC which is free and with source codes. http://www.speex.org/

Quote:
I'm doing voice recording on my Collie using a tiny hacked-up OSS interface tool in combination with the Speex codec.

I've attached the naked files, if you're interested. The ZIP archive includes the (granted, no longer current) speexenc and speexdec executables in version 1.1.8 as well as my little OSS recording utility (oss, complete with source). Together with the also included 'one-liner' shell script spxrec which illustrates usage, you should be able to record for a couple of days

The resulting .spx Speex files can be played back either using speexdec directly or a reasonably recent and complete media player build, many of which contain the speex codec as well these days.
speexdec will also produce PCM .WAV files if you ask it nicely

FOR MP3 RECORDING:
...........I seriously doubt you will be able to make it work in realtime unless you are able and willing to recode its floating point algorithms in integer arithmetic.

If it's mp3 you want, you should probably go for shine, an integer mp3 encoder. Didn't mention it before since you were explicitely targeting voice recording.
....................
Any developer could help me in order to have a new RADIO and Voice/Conversation Recorder???? (Beep FREE)!!!

Shine has source and is compiled and working on my e6 but as for the spxrec only oss has source and still i didn't managed to do something with it.
Shine seems to be for sound conversion and useful for making a smaller bit rate (so smaller file)

Hi BruceLee!
Thanks for your time and effort.

Could you also check this software?
KHdRecord

Website click below:
Software: KHdRecord
(it has the full source code in the website. I think this could be successfully ported to A1200 or E6)

about:
Shine is a very minimalist and clean MP3 encoder implementation. It works very well for recording microphone input to mp3 format, which makes the Zaurus more usefull as a dictophone.

there is no gui, its all command line. I have an opie-sh gui in the works but for now run it at the command line:

shine -b 64 /dev/dsp1 output.mp3

this project was orignally called comprec and the orignal author should take all the credit.

Shine source can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/shine/

Thanks!!!! a lot!!!

Or what about SOX?
Welcome to the home of SoX, the swiss army knife of sound processing programs. SoX is a command line utility that can convert various formats of computer audio files in to other formats. It can also apply various effects to these sound files during the conversion. As an added bonus, SoX can play and record audio files on several unix-style platforms.

What i am looking for is a GSM-AMR voicerecorder. We need to prepare a new one, to replace voicenote application that has a BEEP.
