    Default Nintendo64 Emulator?

    Hi peoplez !

Dont call me maniac or something. But is it possiple to make a n64 emu for 780 or 680 phones? or programing muppen64 for linux to run on this mobiles?

i remember, for example the ultra hle emulator hadnt need much power.

in 2000 when i was use this emu, i just had a:

    -p166 mmx cpu
    -48 MB SDram
    -4MB 3dfx card

And Mario 64 and other games worked playable for me.
hope someone would make a emu

    greetz.

It is possible, but simple port of any emulator will result in bad frame rate(just see vba...) because phone have no floating point coprocessor and no 3d card... if someone optimize(heavy ones!) it to the best, it can be playable, but I don't think someone will spend so much time in this...

LOL... N64 EMU with only 1FPS on e680/i... tooo slow. i think its not possible to get a N64 run playable on ours phone.. better is when we try with a PC Engine emu, that needs just a 200MHZ cpu for fully playable 60FPS with sound!

and like i said a n64 emu needed only 166 mhz? thats less as 200 if i calculate right hehe.

and you can play much better games with an n64 emu.

The CPU and the RAM are enaugh to emulate it.
The Only Probs will be the Graphic Emulation.

What for a GPU haves the 780 or 680. and how many ram? greetz.

Hmm. I think in software mod i had 3 frames or 4 on my p166mmx.
(and resolution 640x480) so on a 312 mhz cpu we could get 7 fps. and with the half resolution maybe 10fps i think.

and that its enaugh for me

by the way - a friend of minee is very interested in programing in qt.
but he dont know how to start. hes a very good programer and could make many progs for our phones and he told me that HE WOULD do a n64 emu

    greetz.

even if we managed to get the frames problem to work (playable), i guess the controller will be our next problem

pls take a loom at my topic in the a780 section !
my friend has make a qt based filemanager. but you have to modify it to run it on our phones! if that works he will do other great progs

N64 emu, playable with only 10FPS? LOL... i DONT think so!

do not waste time to get the N64 Emu "playable" on our linux phones, instead get a PC Engine emu to work with fully 60FPS on the phones..

i dont know why everyone wants only every nintendo console as a emu on the phone...
    Motorola e680 (flashed to e680i) + 4Gb SD card + HT820 Stereo BT Hedphones,
    Ubuntu 6.10 + 7.04,
    Nokia N95 + 8Gb microSD

why you dont make a pc engine emu at yourself would be great!

Considering the advances on playstation 1 emulator for pocket pc(~25 fps running in hardwares like our phone), the frame rates for a n64 emulator will be a shame hehe.

For comparision, psx have a R3000 MIPS 32 bits processor featuring about ~30 MIPS, and a ~66 MIPS graphic unit, i'm not counting on data decompression coprocessor(80 mips) because these can be done offline. N64 have a nice R4300 MIPS 64 bits processor, ~125MIPS and it have hardware floating point unit..., and a graphics coprocessors ~100 MFLOPS. I'm not considering memory specs, but n64 is far better than psx.

Not only the higher specs, but use of floating point will kill the phone...
Maybe a big downgrade in graphics quality/resolution will improve speed( wireframe? ), but is a hard job ...
