it is kind of like opie, but not really. opie uses qt to handle all the graphics, while the enlightenment stuff uses its own low-level graphics, and in theory is very efficient, also opie was built from the ground up for pda's, while the enlightenment stuff is more generic and the pda-level "desktop" still needs to be worked out.
and yes, what is working has been tested on both an e680i and a1200. speed wise it depends on what else the phone is trying to do, but generally the graphics seem very clean and smooth.
as far as applications i really have no idea, you should check out the enlightenment web page for options, and google would be more helpful w/ this than i could be.
mainly this is trying to extend rasterman's proof of concept (see the beginning of htis thread) and set it up w/in mkezx so that future development is more easily shared - and therefore (hopefully) debugged and added to more rapidly. |
