    Default Sound software for Linux

    Hi Developers:

Here is a SUPER list of source codes of Audio software for our Linux Devices.

http://www.linux-sound.org/ (Check Players & Recorders section!)
    and
    http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/apps/sound/recorders/

Hope someone could port any source code to our A1200 Phone.

    For Instance: LISTENER
    http://www.vanheusden.com/listener/
This program listens for sound. If it detects any, it starts recording automatically and also automatically stops when things become silent again.

    Yeah!!
I would be happy to call my friend with a ladspa vocoder on my voice!! or making them wait with a Mini Moog just recorded impro !!!

Seriously, there is surely a lot of applications for the audio in our devices...Of course security ones should be funny ( a loop of "- Hey, I'm happy to be here, in my house today, I like to sit in my chair, with the sun and all...Hey I'm happy..." for make your neighbourg thinking your here, while, in fact, you're away, hehehehe!!...), kind of (de-)crypting for voice, change your voice to appear to be a women while your a old black man... or the contrary ...

I'd love to have Bristol, or a sample player in my phone like simsam and it should be perhaps more realistic than any voice reconition or synthesis because such things just don't exist in the opensource world AFAIK!
I found the nsound project is pretty active and provide quite good tools for audio handling in C++, synthesis, some filters...

But the screen is a little bit small to make music software ergonomics...even the old tracker I used when i was a kid was on a 12 or 13 inch monitor... but multiple views (edit, sequence, keyboard and files) can be the trick to handle a lot in a little device.

...We definetly lack a good MPC replacement software suite for our phones!

Yep. It will be great to have a voice disguiser that changes your voice from Male to Woman. For jokes or funny.

    Hope someone could port them.

I'm not an expert, but this should be done with increasing the lengh of the audio, then using this effect called "time stretch".

Time stretch is used to keep the tonality, the aspects, of a sound while changing its duration.

But perhaps a good equalisation should do approximatly the same, and possibly in real time.
