Developing SMS Keypad

Hello,

Im planning to or wonderin to program a SMS keypad for e680i. Is it possible? Im just a newbie on this Mobile/Pda Programming but im willing to give it a shot, since this phone really rock and it just lacks a good SMS keypad (like on the normal mobile phone or O2 Mini on screen keypad).

Im just really wonderin on why Motorola didnt implemented its Call Keypad on the SMS Function (compose/reply/writing).

Well anyway, if anyone here know if its possible to create another Input type for SMS function? Or does anyone in the world have already done it?

I compiled Jumpx keyboard from OPIE project and copied it to /usr/language/inputmethods/ but no new inputmethod had appear. I think EZX platform based on QT/Embedded and maybe Qtopia using another way of registering inputmethods shared libraries.
