Hi All,

After frequent memory full problems ... I decide to somehow get rid it..

Only way was to free up /ezxlocal...To free /ezxlocal I had to move SMS (sysDatabase) to a free space. I was wondering what to do.. Finally I did this...

cd /ezxlocal
cp sysDatabase /diska
ln -s /diska/sysDatabase sysDb
mv sysDatabase
mv sysDb sysDatabase
mv SysDatabaseBKP /diska/

Rebooted the phone...

Space on ezxlocal is freed...Messages seem to work fine...

But dunno what kinf of problems I might face... Need your help and feedback on this. Some queries:

1. When is /diska mounted? will there be a timing issue due to this moving?
2. Since it is FAT based...the data on it is vulerable to corruption if any problems occur..am i right?
3. Has anybody tried this setup?
4. If any body has less messages or can take risk of losing messages.. pls do try this ...
5. Any other ideas...

/diska is unmounted when usb mass storage is active, so i wouldnt try accessing your sms's while your in USB Mass storage mode. Otherwise it seems fine to me.

Thanks Maxx!! I forgot abt that..Normally I use my phone in USBLAN mode..and now will continue to do that...

Also...In the same way...we can install theme on /diska instead of /ezxlocal

For those who want more themes...I did this:..this is independent of prev steps...can be done w/out trying out the moving of mesgs..

cd /ezxlocal
cd download
mkdir /diska/.system/theme
ln -s /diska/.system/theme theme1
cp -R theme/* theme1 ;copy all files in theme to theme1..bit risky
mv theme themeOLD
mv theme1 theme
rm -r themeOLD

Now, we can install more skins without bothering abt phone freezing after memory full...

Im downloading more themes now

Hello..

Does anybody know if it is possible to increase the EZXLOCAL partition size? Somebody was working on UNIONFS file system mod ? Will that help?

This is a good choices though. I must try this. Anyway when I try to get rid of the same problem I installed all my theme in cg35. You may consider this as an option. Good job.

one warning tho..

I tried to remove back the links.. and restore the message folders..didnt work the correctly..the first time..had to try and lost some mesgs as I restored a older backup. Make sure u back up your messages and contacts frequently..

i am using my sysdb and themes in diska since 8,9 months and i like it using that way.
never had a loss.

BUT
now my SMS are above 2K and i get SMS memory full error at times.
was there an sms storage limit on this fone? i never knew.
i dont think diska has anything to do with it. cuz in ezxlocal, thr was not enough space to store this much data already.

yes... but if someone use Threesearch CGs... this would not be the problem anymore... he got really useful apps to encounter this kind of problem...
