Burning question: How to backup entire phone(incl. firmware)

Hi all,

I've scoured these forums for several hours now, and I’m still not finished gazing at all the opportunities I’ve stumbled upon. But me, rather being safe than sour, would like to know how I can backup my entire phone(like making an image of the system).
Can somebody please tell me what parts of the phone are essential to backup? Is copying the entire root enough to be safe? Even when I screw everything up so much that I can't even use tellnet anymore? And how can I perform these backups the best way?

I have a Dutch a780 with the R52_G_0D.74.A2R firmware(witch I believe is very new). I'd like to share my firmware with you I’ve you're a able to tell me how to back it up.

Please don't tell me to search the forums, or google till I drop. I've been there and done that. My eye are all sore of reading these massive amounts of posts, leading to nowhere. This forum full of information, but it is all scattered around making it very confusing.

I hope that somebody can help me by reaching my goal: To make a simple backup! Once I’ve achieved that, I’m sure I can contribute to the scene, being an enthusiastic IT student.

1. you don't need to upgrade because you already have newest firmware available seems you did not do enough search

2. please post full information about firmware version obtained by dialing WWW008W

3. phone consists of 2 cpu with different firmwares. you can do full backup of AP (linux) firmware using my posted utility in development forum and get 32MB flash image file which is possible to restore back to phone (with our help ). copying entire root is not right method to backup. to but it's one way access to flash BP (radio) firmware and no possiblity backup it.

1. I knew that Wasn't planning to upgrade my phone, only interested in a backup.

2. I didn't write everything down because the firmware info is only shows for 2 seconds(not nearly enough to write it all down). But especially for you, i went on a WWW008W-dailing frenzy .
