Default Embedded Linux Development Kit for E680/I available !

    http://www.denx.de/twiki/bin/view/DULG/ELDK

I have tried this, and 'helloword' go on well use arm-linux-gcc on E680 itself.
Even utilites such as : vi, chroot, route, ip, tfpt, wc ... and many other are available.
There are also httpd, ssl, wuftp ... those service are ready to go on E680I.

No need to wait hours to compile toolchain.
    Just download it and try.

E680 turn into a real linuxbox, a mobile webserver or ftp 8O

    awesomeness !!!!

can this kit work for A780 also .. cos if it is supporting E680I then i guess its exact same platform.. the compilers and all binaries should work.

Does This means we can create native GUI entirely from linux side??

currently i create GUI from MIDP and then communicate with my linux binary....so u think we can entirely create it from Linux side and bypass MIDP ?
    i Cant believe it !?!?!?!

Good Info anhnt3!!! pls do let me know if u succesfully created some native GUI beside helloworld ? i mean can touch screen functions etc be possibel as well ?

I would still suggest to have your own cross development platform with latest gnu software releases. Its easy (check Wiki) and you are in full control!

Hope this doesn't result in more "help me..." posts

Thanks ! I'm compiling qt with ELDK, hopefully we can write GUI app.

@pnail : i have used tool chain from kegel.com/crosstool, and ELDK is exactly the same in funtionality. it also saves time from recompiling such toolchain, util and common lib. Real alternative if you are lazy to wait to recompile toolchain. Y_Y

awesome try. Do update us if u succesfully create the GUI. i wonder still how it will be completely possible, cos if u havent read in the development forum... Leprachaun and bunch of others started working on this native solution/qt long back ... the work i assume is stoped for a while cos of lack of time but they did come up with quite a good toolchain and were able to even create the simple GUI's...there were issues with separate window server cos they werent able to share the same window server...

i dont know presently if it's entirely possible to create GUI with touch events and stuff or is it still unstable... the thread is way too long

    nice work..
i tried to start the MC comander over MidpSSH telnet(with the smal Font, landsacpe and fullscreen) in my e680(not i) and start it and works, so i can see and use the MC fully.
example i can navigate and run a led-script with using MC.

also i tried it with a .lin script (mc.lin) start over the e680's own file-manager, it starts but i become just a black screen, but when i use the stylus so i can "wish"-away the black color and see the brevious real e680 GUI/program(file manager) again.
