anyone interested in trying out a beta version of a j2me-based bluez manager? right now its basically an interface to start the bluez stuff, browse for other devices and specify the params and make either a dund or pand connection. its in a very rough draft state, and not as much fun as trying things out via a telnet session, but for those interested its an option.

I am waiting to see if a NEO package can handle both a native executable (e.g. the demon to handle commands from the j2me app) as well as the j2me interface; if so, and w/ cyph's, pnail's, mack's and cytux's permission, then i'd like to put everything together into a single package (bluez utils and libs, ezx-hciattach, ip routing bins, mack's connectivity pack, bash scripts and the j2me management app). If anyone has any insight on packaging all of this into a single NEO package i'd love to hear it, .

I would love to try, even if the installation is more than a NEO package.

How's the progress of this development, btw? Just curious.
Development of EZX-SysInfo / SysEdit application is completed! Version 0.1 Beta 2 is out. Check out in 'Bounty Projects' forum.

sorry to throw this out there and not do anything about it, i got side tracked w/ work and after trying out cyph's new oe-based opie package the bluetooth manager app included seems a lot better GUI than I could do and i think at this point i'm leaning toward putting my effort into getting the opie bluetooth stuff working properly.

what i do have is a j2me app that starts up the bluez stuff and can scan for devices, but the interface w/ the bluez utils is not as clean as it could be and right now to get things working requires too much screwing around to make a clean install possible.

i should throw this topic out to general development because after trying j2me stuff (that doesn't allow for standard exec'ing of system calls) and various forms of native development against the Mot modified qt-libs (with includes that are not currently 100% compatable w/ some open-source version of qt) as a beginner i have found developing for opie to be the most reliable and documented option. I may be wrong on this, and if possible i'd prefer to develop w/ the native ezx environment, but w/o 100% compatibility w/ some open-souce gui (e.g. whatever version of qt) it is just too frusterating trying to develop when you don't know when you will run into a hole w/o a reverse-engineerd solution.

    Hi guys,
Am able to establish a PAN/PPP connection from my motorola device using the packages Thanks for all your efforts.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to control the speed of my bluetooth connection. We can have 8 connections max at anytime right. So if I am using only 1/2 can I change the settings such that all the bandwidth is allocated to 1 or 2 channels. Any pointers as to where I can know more about it ???
    Thanks in advance
    Deepak

    Hi guys,
could someone please let me know why it isn't possible to get audio over bluetooth headset to work?
I mean according to the bluetooth specification, audio seems to be a very low level protocol, and cyph's blueZ includes an audio SCO module. So what is missing?
