moved to the correct forum. there already is a toolchain though, marcus.bluetroll.se/e680. Im not totally sure if it works for a780 though, but i guess it does since what does evaldas compile with otherwise?
ps the links gives a 404
I was able to execute a simple "hello world!" C program build with the crosstools described on kegel-crosstool
I used the script "demo-arm-xscale.sh" and changed the eval... line to "eval `cat arm-xscale.dat gcc-3.4.4-glibc-2.3.5.dat` sh all.sh --notest" to build the tool chain (the default failed to build)
"hello world" worked out of the box, next I have to try something more difficult, maybe the nano editor.
BTW, the A780 has 291 bogomips (~ pentium II @ 233MHz) and 2.5MB free RAM of 47.6MB. Not bad.

Yes, but does it run Linux?
I fixed the link, thanks.
of course, A780 and E680/i hardware is the same except some addon devices which doesn't affect compatibility. actually i don't remember which tools were used to compile toolchains since i've had bunch of them during last 2 months, but i guess it was built using marcus directions.
btw i've even heard that one guy flashed a780 fw to e680 and was able to start the phone![]()
xmit bogomips is not the way to measure processor speed. for me sometimes it's useful to compare two identical systems
Hi All,
Me tooo!! I was able to generate a Toolchain!! Hello World works on Phone..
Was wondering whether anybody would shared with a copy of Kernel config file .config so that I can try compiling the kernel modules for my A780..
