Default Motorola: There will be no "official" SDK for EZX

Hey guys... I really really wanted to get native apps running via an SDK kit, but motorola said that there will not be one. I know that many/most of us knew this was coming, but I have the unofficial word via opensource.motorola. HERE. It really sucks... Think about it: They release an EZX phone, and less than a year later, stop support for it. That's great business tactics... Well, I think that this may be my last moto... I spent like $350 on my E6, and I don't have alot of money to just buy mobiles. And for them to just say 'oh well, deal w/ it' is just rude. Sorry for the rant, but I'm pretty ticked.

The EZX series of Motos are awesome, they have potential that is really uncapped in every way imaginable.

Now I know that it is not the end of the world, as our devs here are freakin' awesome, and have been able to get some apps running natively. But this is a huge detriment to those of us who aren't that awesome like that...

Sorry if this is out of place! But I thought since this is an issue w/ dev I'd put it in the dev section
I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...

    when MOTOMAGX is launch?

when C++ SDK in eclipse can be launch?

I think at least about a year. so who can wait for it. I think we should work together with ezx sdk like samr7 do for A780 SDK. but I know problem is the best C++ programmers does not have phone. this make difficult to develop our own SDK.

hmmm.. so what is then the Motorola E7? it has touchscreen but no EZX UI anymore but MotoMagx?
maybe motorola changed the EZX to geht a smoother UI with MotoMagx and SDK support.

also many people know that the N95 has that 3D multimedia menu, but it will be the first and the last phone that has that 3D menu, because nokia changed to another menu style again... you see, its not just motorola that change the UI...
in the next vew year the phone will have a similar UI like the iPhone has, even nokia has an iPhone like phone in their factory now.

well after reading this , to be honest I feel like selling my phone and go get a samsung ( the newest with 5mp camera) ... but lets face it, its nto worth it ...

I mean we all know cellular phones nowadays are worst then CPU , especialy for the next 15 month , it will be crazy , the progress and evolution of mobile phone will make them mini-laptops (witch they already are aside form speed cpu strength ) ....

So yea stick with moto Imahottguy , you ll see in time it will be worth it , becuz 1 thing sure about motorola is they wont rip us off with prices , and they ll always be the most hackable phone around ...
Been a Moto Fan Since the First Vader ....Yup I taught I was real cool Back in '98 with the James Bond Phone and the Mi2 sunglasses .... Only 'dumb' question is the one you do not ask ...

the e680 i have is my first moto phone, i had never another moto so far... i think the E7 gets also hacked even motorola does not have an SDK for it, just like the EZX phones now...
i m a techno-freak and just want have agood phone that holds some years, i not just want a phone that only looking good but cant really do anything. i still have some phones that we can use only for phone calls and texting..

the e680 is the best phone i had until now and the E7 will be the next one.. the samsung (F700, 5Mp cam, keyboard?) has also the samsung own OS and no SDK i think.

the E7 is the best technical phone in the world if the specs are really true and the phone ill be realized.

Well, I don´t really mind Motorola is not releasing any real SDK for EZX.
OpenEZX has made some progress in last months, and OpenMoko, too - I think in two month I´ll switch my A780 to OpenMoko and everything will be OK.

Well, the E7: Specs look very good, maybe to good to be real. But we don´t even know for sure if this phone will see the daylight, we don´t know when and we don´t really know what OS it´ll have. Maybe some touchscreen MotoMagx, but Symbian UIQ has touchscreen support as well, and the new Z8 is a symbian phone...
And concerning the W-Lan: Let´s hope it won´t be like A910 W-Lan, which (per default) only works with UMA enabled W-Lan (UMA is GSM over IP) networks.

now I can sell my E6 without any hesitation. I have recently bought a N95 but still I was waiting for the SDK to come out. As theres gonna be no SDK then theres no point to retain the E6. I guess its gonna be my bye bye day to Motorola.
