right now the opie.cramfs takes up about 21 MB, but i am sure that a stripped down version could be prepared with minimal libraries, fonts, and apps to shrink this down some.Originally Posted by mudassar
that's too bad; i tried to read a bit about midlet signing in the e680 devel. guid but it seemed more confusing than building a qt app from scratch.yup signed midlet can do alot but unfortunately only companys with a good meaningful applications can get it signed otherwise its very hard to get it from motorola....i would be surprised if neone gets it !! even for a company its very hard !
i still have to do some more digging, but i remembered that there is a python quicklauncher for opie available. i have never programmed w/ python but it might be an option for app development, plus, once you have opie (or at least the python quicklauncher) running i guess you wouldn't have to compile the app, just script it.
