BTW, I am thinking about remove SDL depedency step by step. Direct access to OSS sound driver, remove SDL thread and replace by qt thread, direct access to qpainter, etc. Not sure, since actually I am not advance coder but who knows. Another approach maybe make a slim SDL library for rockbox only.

SDL-independent Rockbox would be good,can't be better!

Is there something new about rockbox application for E680 (not i) phone?
Maybe, You need some more binaries from original firmware as to resolve some of difficulties that You have!?

Sorry, been busy for my regular work. But this week I made a big step about possibility bring rockbox to A1200/E6. Next version I will release rockbox for E680, E680i/g, A780, A1200/E6 on the same date! For E2 user, please ask to flylasly to port SDL to your device and share the resulting library here. I will do it by my self if I can but failed so far. Really sorry.

Bad news for all, maybe I will dissappear about 2 weeks because job related duty!
