HOWTO Remaster root file system on E680/E680i ???

I know general process for cramfs remastering, but when I copy from cramfs image files some of them cannot be copied.

I kindly ask more expirienced guys to describe process of CG33 (root fs) file remastering.

1 U should Install a Linux OS first.
2 Telnet into ur linux as root and put CG33 into
3 mkdir /mnt/ttt
4 mount -o loop CG33.smg /mnt/ttt
5 tar zcvf /e680-CG33.tar.gz /mnt/ttt
6 mkdir /chroot
7 cd /chroot
8 tar zxvf /e680-CG33.tar.gz
9 midify anyfile in /chroot u want
10 mkcramfs /chroot /newCG33.smg (cramfs format)
11 rename newCG33.smg to E680I_G_0D.C3.A8P_0D.B0.B1P_T674VE_L001_S001_P006_GSOE680IT674VE006_fullCG33.smg
12 Run PST to reflash flash
13 Just waiting ........ xixi

This may be a stupid question, but while we are on topic, is it possible to add a link to the rootfs, such as what is done w/ the /tmp or /proc where it is linked to /ram/XX?

A lot of precompiled packages (e.g. from zaurus or ipaq feeds) like to put the interesting stuff in /opt, and many of these applications don't have environment variables that allow the user to specify alternative locations. If we could make a link from /opt to /ezxlocal/opt (for example) we could then put the bulk of the applications into a cramfs file and mount it to /ezxlocal/opt. just a thought....
