i don´t think that there is a best Linux.
you must find the best one for you!
you can try at the beginning a Live-CD
there are many out in the net
knoppix
ubuntu
kubuntu

start your search at distrowatch
and find the flavor that fits your taste.
if you get deeper in linux you can always try annother disrto!
