ShoutBox Request

Hey admin and super-mods (includes mods too),

It has been a pleasurable stay at motorolafans.com for me and I am definitely sure for others too.Now, since I am a regular visitor to several forums and online gatherings one thing which has really amazed me is the concept of ''SHOUTBOX''.

For a guy like me who is mostly logged on the forum I need it badly to communicate with other members who are online.
Sometimes I even run out of posts to answer and deal with
In that case a SHOUTBOX will be more that a boon.

I list few advantages:

1.Will save a massive load of off-topic that goes into posts where members query about each other's well-being after answering the thread
2.Will allow users to better catch up with others.
3.Save private messaging excessive transition.
4.It WILL LOOK COOL MAN!

This is purely a suggestion and if it will take pains to implement I aplogise for the request.

*A warning above the SHOUTBOX ''Queries and requests not allowed or you will be BANNED'' is a common sight and that would hopefully increase post count.

We had a shoutbox about a year ago. It was taken down by admin for reasons known to him. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Well shoutbox is not a right mode to interact with memebers, there are many reason to justify it's a useless stuff, like no standard in messaging, possibility of vulgar words and finally possibility of controversies. Why don't we guys create a chat room, actually it's possible one. ( FREE Java Chat Room/Chat Box, Add-on & Custom Web Site Chat Rooms by Chat-Forum.com or some other site offering this )

Can't name them or else a certain guy named colpino will get after me.Nokia forums have it, entertainment forums (sorry for being vague but still can't name them) and warez websites.

Actually The alternative you suggested also does not eradicate the ''spam magnet'' thing.If spammers are here then they are there too.Although I understand that the suggestion is more clean.

Like I mentioned in my first post that if it will take pains to implement then I am very very sorry for the request.

First - Never be sorry and emotional for something you request on the internet, unless it has caused a major problem.

Second - We have had our share of problems with the chat box as mentioned by swifty. We are always open to suggestions, but they have all to be evaluated on a case-to-case basis.
