    Exclamation montavista after android?

can I roll back to the default OS montavista... once I have successfully installed android onto my phone (Rokr E6) i.e upgrading kernel from 2.4.20 to 2.6.23....

how do I install back my old OS...?? do I have to roll back to 2.4.20 kernel or the montavista will run fine on 2.6.23 kernel??

am still to install android on my phone... so want to know if there's any coming back... (though sounds very noobish... there must be some way or the other to get back to the old OS!!!)...

also how safe is it to install android on E6?? what are the chances of things going wrong...??

there are guides available for installing android on A1200 ming... but there's no guide for rolling back to montavista... .if any one can upload that would highly appreciable...!!

I am still to install android on my phone... and am not afraid of taking risk...
BUT is android at this stage good enough to be installed... i.e all phone functions are working on it or not?? (camera doesnt work is fine with me..)
other than camera wat abt bluetooth, mp3 player, movie player, edge/gprs, java support???

eager to install android... plz reply ASAP....

NOTE: sry for writing such a big thread...
porting changed to installing... (thanx konig..)

Porting means making a particular application or OS capable of working on a different processor or a different device. Getting phone processes to work is part of the porting work. As such, I dont think you can simply "port" android. Leave that to developers who can understand their job. You will just be following their instructions on how to install it, not port it.

We're watching you. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Montavista provides the 2.4 kernel for motorola, not the whole OS.
No, you cant use the motorola rootfs (or apps) with the OpenEZX 2.6 kernel.

You dont need to "get back", you can have both and use a multi boot setup.

It is not safe, it may put your phone on fire or make your battery explode, and in some special cases it may make your phone fly high into the sky then fall very fast, causing earthquakes and potentially the destruction of your whole neighborhood.

No, there are no guides to install android on ming.
There are guides to RUN android on ming without installing anything.

Nothing works as it should, its experimental, definitely not ready for end-users.
If you are a developer, go ahead and try it. If you are just a user then its better to experience android on EZX phones watching youtube videos from the developers.
If you use OpenEZX and want to support it, please click on "I USE THIS" on our ohloh project page: https://www.ohloh.net/projects/openezx

Hey buddy our E6 is already running MontaVista Linux
so there is no other MontaVista for E6

and we don't have a full working version of Android for E6 or EzX Phones
Android can only be booted through Telnet session nothing more.....
    Motorola A1200 : Beast
    Motorola MOTOROKR E6/E6e : GoldenBird/Bricked
    Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 : Stock ROM (Gingerbread 2.3.6) - ROOTED
