Talking Android hardware implementation possible now?

    Hey all,

Hope you came across this: http://nemustech.blogspot.com/2007/1...target-hw.html

and this video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUgdVr262NU"]YouTube - Porting Google Android to real target board[/ame]

Now, can some of the wizards here at motorola fans make this possible for the E6?

The guy who wrote this blog says we'll need a 2.6 kernel and drivers. Now, can't we rip apart ezx and salvage the kernel and drivers? I know i sound stupid, but, is this possible?

OpenMoko and Android are very different worlds
i am sure OpenMoko will run on our phones.
Android needs a faster/Javacode optimized CPU to run smooth.

it is not only a question of 'can' it is also a question of 'will'!

I know, Android and the Davlik JVM, contrary to most of the members opinion I'm quite excited about the "new" JVM on the Android. I think eventually we should be able to run J2SE apps on our handhelds, imagine portability of desktop apps onto our phones. I did read though the new Neo is going to run some sort of open source JVM? is that true?

Did a little bit of research and found out hardware on the Neo is not good enough for Android. Thats where my TyTn might come in handy

Concerning OpenMoko and Java: Check the Wiki

And, some news: The first "soon-to-run-Android"-Device is out: Wistron NeWeb GW4. And: It´s said to feature a TI OMAP 1710 running at 216MHz.

So maybe the Neo1973 is fast enough.
