Hi all, I have created this thread to give you info. regarding Motorola from past to present & future. We use Motorola phones, but most of us don't know about this Gaint company. Here is my small attempt to provide you info about Motorola Inc, and Motorola India Pvt. ltd.

Motorola was started as Galvin Manufacturing Co. on 25th Sep. 1928. Galvin manufacturing company manufactured Battery elimnators.
Founder: Paul Galvin

In 1930, Galvin Manufacturing company went ahead & introduced first ever Television for commercial use. This Television was named as Golden View. Galvin manufacturing sold out its television unit to Mitashita of Japan. Now this company is well known as Panasonic.

In the late 1930's Galvin manufacturing Co. built Car Radios which had capability to run even without turning car ignition on. Thus Connecting Motion & Audio, this Radio was named as Motorola. Motorola radios were extensively used in Ford Cars. Later in 1940s Galvin Manufacturing Co. changed its name to Motorola.

The current Motorola M Logo was designed by Zeke Zener in late 1954. In 1955, this M logo is used as standard logo for Motorola.

In 1940, during second world war, Motorola provided Handheld Walkie Takie to US army. From here Motorola's invention started in the field of wireless communication.

In 1950s provided radio equipments to most of the NASA satellites.
In 1969, Neil Armstrong spoke the famous words "one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" from the Moon on a Motorola Radio.

In 1978, Motorola created revolution in the field of Wireless communication. Dyna TXA 8000, first ever cellular phone.

Motorola was also strong in manufacturing semiconductors & ICs. Motorola's famous 68000 processors were extensively used in Mac computers & IBM's power PC

In 1986, Robert Galvin, son of Paul Galvin, Founder of Motorola developed Six Sigma. This became Global standards in the field of software.
