Dear A910 users, before flashing this firmware, check your firmware version first (Settings -> Phone Settings -> Properties).

If it is a R57* version, don´t flash this firmware until there is any report on this being successful. At least for BTUK firmware users, my igeekmod-firmware should work - with less risk ( there is still some risk, so make sure to RTFM ) - and you should be always able to get back to your old original firmware (for warranty issues).

After testing R58 on one of my A910s, I have to say that it is definitely a great firmware - but you shouldn´t flash it to your R57* A910s (R58 phones are A910i). The battery will be recognized as invalid and as you´ll have a new bootloader, there is no (known) way back to your old firmware - and as long as there is no A910i/R58 BP flex/flash available, you´ll have this battery problem (I don´t know wether the battery isn´t chargeable, but I have to assume it is not).

So don´t do that, I will try to port the ingredients of this great firmware over to R57 - I promise

BTW: That´s what the bootloader says right now:

    Code:

    FLASH_KEY_PRESS
    Boot Module:
    BOOT_G_00.02.49P_MART_REF

          MBM FLASH MODE

    BATT TRICKLE CHRG DISABLED
I think that it might be due to the bootloader, that it battery-related stuff is broken. I´ve been searching the web to find something out about BATT TRICKLE CHRG DISABLED and found some chinese websites - one of these says that (A1200 related) the "jump" between the flashes was too far. Sounds like we need a transition firmware or something like that.

Hi, don't know if the A910 is 'similar' to P2K phones (at bootloader mode, that is) but with P2K phones we can upgrade/downgrade bootloaders quite easily by getting into Blank mode (via TP or dualBL) and using tools available on the net to downgrade/upgrade. But I don't even know if there is such a think as BLANK mode on JUIX phones !

Well, I need the help of an expert I guess. Tried to repair it using
    Code:
    R58_G_10.01. 378P_GSZA910INEUFFR022_PDS002_LP0039A_GSZA910IIPTVNF01_S066_E002_R002_G004_Servi ce1FF
but it didn't help - at least I have the proof now that this firmware will lock your phone. So don't flash it.

I created a repackage with two little (cosmetical, I use the BTUK icons as the mainmenu animation seems to be broken in all R58 firmwares) changes of vkins R58 into BTUK fw, it is working fine.

If you want to have it, just contact me. SIP should work (not yet confirmed) - and as it will take some time to release igeekmod R2 based on this (as I won't be able to work on it the next two weeks) it might be attractive.

....so, is this igeekmod but with some changes ? or is completely R58 firmware ? Will it lock my phone ?
If it's just changes to the current igeekmod and will NOT lock phone then I would like to give it a try because I have SIP running at home (I'm with sipgate) and would love to know if it works.
Probably the best way would be to put it somewhere on 4shared (or other sharing site) and let us know the link.

Well, it is a repackage of vkins firmware. It didn't lock my phone, so it shouldn't lock yours. It isn't a igeekmod firmware, as it doesn't have a terminal or some weird stuff like that But thinks like USBNET might be easier, as this firmware has the option to choose USB Net in connection menu (didn't try to telnet it yet).

Hi p3t3r, if you can get it to me somehow I will give this firmware a try.
I don't think emailing will work because of the size of it, most of the email providers i use will refuse an email with a big attachments, that is why i suggested putting it somewhere on a sharing site.
Also the current igeekmod does have USBNET, it is the menu selection called InetD, but it is pointing to a file that currently does not exist, I simply copied the right file over to the right location and everything was fine. Anyway, all it does is issue an at+mode=13 command to change the mode from modem to networking.
BTW, do you know of a way I can backup my current firmware in case i need to go back to it. I saw something called getOS,but I don't think this will backup everything to an shx file so that I can reload it via RSDLite if something happens.

EDIT: thanks p3t3r, just found the link in my inbox....
