Thread: A910 - New Firmware enables user to surf the Internet via Wifi

    Hi,
last build of igeekmod R1, as R2 will take some time until it´s ready.
Main change is the fix of the ./firstrun error, and My Tool Box has new name and a new icon.

    Get it while it´s hot!

Make sure to read the readme. It´s not my fault, if you break your phone. It won´t work on R58/A910i.

[For those, that want to try SIP and aren´t NEUF users, just type
    Code:
    cd /usr/SYSqtapp/voip
    and then
    Code:
    ./voip
and you might be able to set it up for your SIP provider. In R2 this will be easier, I promise ]

    Hi p3t3r,

I'm new to this site. I found the posts while searching for firmware. I applied your latest firmware to my A910. First msg I got after flashing was Invalid battery. Apparently it wasn't too much of a problem. The phone worked great for about 3 days. It was nice to see that I could associate with Access Points.

Here are some things I noticed. Bluetooth volume never changed. The volume was very low during calls so I would try to raise the vol and nothing.

Lastnight, I put the phone on charge before going to bed and this morning it started rebooting and giving the msg invalid battery.

I tried draining the battery (figuring that it might have been overcharged), no luck.

Any insight you could pass on would be much appreciated.

    Thanks and good luck.

    Hi 5cott

Perhaps your bp / flex version should help solving the problem (or trying to understand it )
Please have a look at this in settings menu and report it here....

Also, to complete could you give us some more details:

Does your battery is good and does charging works ?

Does charging work, especially when the "bad battery" message is here?

Did you tried to flash another firmware?

    Have you reflashed it?

    Thanks.
Say developer, but it's so hard!

    p3t3r,

Phone is showing the battery symbol (upper right corner) but not flashing; in Red outline. msgbox at bottom of screen shows 'Charging'. Message in upper left corner reads 'Invalid battery'. I can't get to the menus (i believe because the invalid battery. I'm going to let it sit for a while to see if it might take a charge. Once I can get into the menu's, I'll post with more information. Thanks for your help.

Well P3t3r is aware of the fact that with some red battery symbol, the batt will not be charged, this was why I asked you that...

In some case the only way is to reflash with a full battery taken/charged with another phone/desktop charger...
Let see if this is the only solution for you...
Did you ever reboot the phone after flashing it?
    How many boots?

Sometimes a reboot seems to repair things... but your flash is more probably corrupted and need to be reflashed.

    Sabrod,

my apologies I thought p3t3r had answered my inquiry.

I booted the phone 1 time after the flash. Since everything appeared to be working, I didn't pay much attention to reboots, but I'm fairly certain that it only happened once.

Can the phone be rebooted in the current state (dead battery)? It seems that once the interface is up there's no way to get to the menu's. Buttons respond but the 'Charging' messagebox won't go away.

if I have to I'll buy a battery to get me through the reflash/reboot.

Thanks for the response. Hope to hear from you soon.

Ok, so for you, invalid battery is fine.... so what's your problem, you're fixed!

So the batt wont charge anymore?

It is possible that next time you boot up your phone, it will work like charm recognize your batt... etc... but, I would reflash one time with igeekmod to be sure...
Well, you can buy a battery, but perhaps you don't need one...
It would be cool if you had the possibility to charge the batt at a shop.

If, (I hope for you, it's not the case...) your phone had real software/hardware problem, then you will need probably to charge it more than one time ( plus you 'll want to use it perhaps!) to fix it if it's possible, so the best choice would be to buy a desktop charger.
Perhaps you can find a cheap package with one or two replacement BT60 and a desktop charger.
I don't think it's the best charger ever and i prefer to use the phone, but this work.
Hope to help you a little.
    Good luck!

humm, BTW, I think the discussion is a lot off topic here, you should begin a new thread on a910 section?

[I used an external charger and managed to fully charge the battery. This got the phone up and running. Still won't charge. Will try reflashing]

    [No]

Igeekmod voip should work, actually, I didn't manage to call with it but there is a work in progress.

I found there is only 2 voip codecs (luckily the most used codecs...) : G729, and G723.

As SIP profiles are difficult to edit (readonly??), I can edit sip profiles files to test setting for any sip provider (that use those 2 codecs).

If you want to test your SIP accounts, tell me some settings (provider server, provider name,etc...), then I will add them and send you the modified file (CG43), and p3t3r, after any success, will add theses profiles to igeekmod.

Also, if you want to test SIP, just dial a number, and prior to push the green button, select option>voice network>Voip (when connected to wifi of course)

BTW, If you want, just check the attachment, I'm actually working with this SIP profiles templates.
