Firmware updates?

Anyone know if there has been any firmware updates, and if so if there is a way I can download and apply them myself? I am in the US (where they don't sell the a780 yet) so I don't have any service centers here that will do it.

Any help is appreciated!

I've asked this question so many times, on so many forums (including this one) without any answers in return. So I can only assume that there isn't anybody with the updated firmware, at least, no one willing to share it.

I am running the R52_G_0D.44.A2P firmware on the Taiwanese version. The most recent update I've heard of is R52_G_0D.50.A7P that is supposed to give you EDGE and a few other key improvments.

The only semi-promising source i found is here:

From what I gather, somewhere on this site you can Pay to download this firmware, but I can't read it well enough to find out where and how to do it. If anyone can read this for me and tell me how to download it, I'll buy it and share with everyone. Firmware is on me!

I'm running firmware R52_G_0D.50.AEP and I think this is the newest version (incl. EDGE support).But I have got the Thai version.The guy at the service centre told me today that there's no update out yet.
I'm not sure though what the last three letters indicate and if and how I can extract the firmware form the phone.You need flashing software etc. for that.But here in Thailand you can update your firmware for free at every Motorola service centre for free (within the 1 year guarantee period).
Even the Motorola centre in the US should have an update for you but you might have to pay because it's an non-local device...

Well, seems my A780 is running the "hottest" firmware R52_G_0D.38.A3P
It's nice to see people around ready to share their firmware. I'm currently working on utility to extract flash contents and assemble firmware which can be used by PST. Currently stuck with ROFLASH driver http://www.pashkovsky.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=45

THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Finally, someone got it. I would gladly be the first to try it out, but at this download rate, it will be finished sometime between tomorrow and my death. Looking forward to checking it out. Thanks again!

How can I know the firmware version that my phone is running on?
