Hi,
I bought brand new A780 phone with firmware:
R52_G_0D.74.A2R
R52_G_0D.C0.B1P
GSOA780T673AU064
62373700
Asian unlocked market version. No CoPilotinstalled and probably no GPS.
and I want to install some new applications. I put mpkg file into MyPrograms folder into the phone and I have install option (on that file) but when I choose that option nothing happen. I'm doing sth wrong?
Please help...

I have the .74 firmware on my A780 - should I be able to install mpkgs by default? if so, how would I do it? I know 'double tapping' in the filemanager doesn't work.
They are stickied - but it might help to have them here for people searching

why my friend's a780 can install mpkg by default?i dont think a780 need mpkg installer..
Thanks swifty,
I just hoped it might be easier than that as OpenEZX wiki said some phones where supported ootb. If I _hold_ down on the icon the top option is 'install' - but still nothing happens - so misleading!
Oh, as an aside: and I learned to double click on an Acorn Archimedes and have been using Gnome (on Linux) for the last 4 years - I do quite a lot of double clicking there too. I don't reckon even Steve Ballmer can claim double click for MS :P
i have read that on OpenEZX too.
maybe there is somewhere a firmware with mpkg enabled,
but i have not found it.
what icon are you refering to?
if LinLoader and mpkg is installed,
you can click in filemanager(no double) on the *.mpkg file and have an installation option where you can choose phone memory or transflash and a category where the program should go.
it is not as hard as it looks at the beginning![]()
No, you're right - once LinLoader is done it's easy.
