i think it is for normal GSM/GPRS and not for GPS.
but you can give it a try.

When I remove battery cover form my A780 there is one antenna conector between battery and tip of the stylus pen(lower left cornner of battery). I'm just wondering can I use this connector for external antenna for GPS.
Thanks

As GPS chip and built-in antenna are in the keypad-part of the phone I don't think that this is external GPS antenna connector. I would NOT connect GPS antenna to this connector because this can possibly damage something that is responsible for GSM connectivity (maybe power amplifier or something like that). Those antennas are not meant to be used with GSM chips (they may have different impedance etc.). It is not worth of risking.
Have you seen this thread? Apparently the undocumented external antenna port on the E680i does work with the appropriate back-plug.
Could anyone try this on the A780?
(The exact part number for the needed part is included in the thread.)
If this works, I buy this phone for my car...
